Labor Day 2011 arrives on Monday, September 4th, 2011.  The idea for the Labor Day holiday was copied from a celebration parade that was founded in Canada. The federal holiday which is now known as Labor Day was first introduced as legislation by President Grover Cleveland and then it was passed by the United States Congress in 1894. Labor Day is a way of recognizing the labor unions and the workers for their contributions to the American economy by giving them a paid holiday as a way to celebrate these accomplishments.
