New Star Wars bad guy – Kylo Ren Black Series.

The Force has been strong as Star Wars Force Friday arrived. With fans lining up outside of stores such as Walmart, Target or Toys R Us, others turned to online resources to get their new “Star Wars The Force Awakens” merchandise and toys.

Among the hot sellers so far seem to be the new Sphero BB-8 droid which can be controlled by mobile app. It sold out within an hour on the Amazon website, with the item also selling out at the Disney Store’s online site and Bed Bath & Beyond. Those who searched the Internet long and hard found it available at Brookstone, but even that one is now shipping closer to Christmas.

Fans reported on Twitter that items went very fast in stores too. Among them were the new 3.75-inch action figures featuring all of the newest characters from the movie. Poe Dameron, Captain Phasma, Rey, Finn and of course, Kylo Ren, all were snatched up quickly. The Kylo Ren 3.75-inch Forest Mission Figure sold out online leading to some eBay sellers listing them on the site. One auction had the figure up to $50 with shipping, showing the power of the new merchandise. A 6-inch Black series figure of the new villain is also sold out at many retailers.

The BB-8 by Sphero could be the hot toy for the upcoming Christmas holiday season. The item retailed at most sites and stores for $150. It  features the ability to control the robotic ball droid via your smartphone or tablet with the touchpad. You can also set it to auto-roam and patrol your home, have it communicate and send virtual holographic messages or videos. The item employs a similar technology to the live robot in the film, which Disney has invested heavily in with Sphero. It sold out within an hour on Amazon’s website but has been showing up at other retailer sites such as Best Buy, GameStop and Sprint stores.

The Funko Pop series also arrived on Force Friday. These collectibles have been sought after by fans of the hit film and include exclusive Funko Pop figures through retailers such as Amazon, Walmart and Target. Collectors will certainly be seeking these items out ahead of the movie which hits theaters December 18th, 2015.

So how did you fare on Force Friday? What were the hottest items you saw getting snatched up from store shelves?
